Run the Edge 2015

The first day went...

I must admit that after work I came home and sat on the computer and even took a hot bath to cut through the cold of the day.  Then it sank in...you had a mounted route today AND you have not even walked.  Oh the dread and doubt just poured in.

Check this video out to see how that "voice" in you're head can damage you!

You think I'm doomed?  Nah, I just got on some running shorts and jumped on my treadmill.  I only did a brisk 3 mile walk but combined with the 2 miles from the day brought me to a whopping 5.2 miles!  Hey, I'm taking it!  I'm only 22 miles behind since I didn't get start until the 4th for my 2015 miles.  I WILL catch up!

I decided to combine a little motivation for my 2015 miles.  I am setting up a mason jar and for every mile I walk/run I am putting in a quarter.  "That's it?"  you say.  Yes, that's it!  It ends up being $503 at the end of the year.  That's like 4 pairs of running shoes.  I will need that too since I should go through a couple this year getting the miles in.

I am finally making some running friends.  I even got asked to go running this past Sunday.  If I wasn't driving my kids to Nashville I would have jumped right on that.  I did have doubts after seeing how cold it was but I think I can hang.  It's the speed at which these girls go that I might not be able to hang.  Only time will tell.

Speaking of making running friends, Melissa even asked me to run with her team in the Ragnar Relay Series.  I researched them and it seems fun.  It also seems a little hard.  If I keep myself consistent with my running (as it seems I will) then I will be good.

I also found me another half marathon to run this year.  It's in Ohio in August.  I would say that I may die with the humidity and heat but this one is in the cover of trees!  I look at these things when picking my states.  So that actually is my 4th planned one this year...brings me to 9 half marathons and just 41 more to go.  Lol!

     It was a good day!
